Many of the colleges of the University of London, such as the London School of Economics & Political Science, Queen Mary College, University College, Birkbeck College, Royal Hollaway and other colleges formulate the content, course of study and assessment for the degrees awarded by The University of London External System.

Additionally, for those students interested in entering the legal profession in the United States, the University of London LL.B. degree is recognized by many major ABA approved law schools in the United States - for purposes of meeting their educational requirements of Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree programs. Many states will permit graduates of US ABA LL.M. programs to take their bar examinations.
